Nintendo NX will be released in 2020
Nintendo has confirmed that the NX, the console that will compete with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will launch in 2020.
The company also revealed that its interactive entertainment console will be available for pre-order in 2020, with the release date to be announced later in the year.
The announcement came in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and followed a discussion with the Nintendo President and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime at a press conference at the company’s headquarters in Kyoto, Japan.
The NX will launch alongside a new Nintendo 3DS, the first console in Nintendo’s history to be released with a touchscreen, which is the same system used on the new Nintendo Switch console.
The console will also launch with a new controller, which was first revealed at E3 2016 and the same controller that was used on Switch.
Nintendo also revealed the console will feature a touch screen, which has already been used on other systems, such as the Nintendo Switch.
